- GMI Email Prayer Chain - If you
would like to be part of our email prayer chain at GMI, please contact us.
We are in the process of updating our records. Even if you think you are on
the list, please send your email address to gmi@gracem.org so we can make
sure we have your most current information. Thank you.
- Praise from Uruguay - Aimee Johnson
is praising the Lord for the La Teja camp weekend in early March that went
very well. There were 27 kids and six adults who participated. Aimee was in
charge of games, and despite having no one else along who spoke English, everything
went well and the Lord really blessed their communication! Please pray for
Aimee and those working with her who are involved in two AWANA programs. Pray
for adequate staffing and that the Lord would work in the hearts of the children.
- Hansens in Bolivia - PTL that
Frosty and Cathy Hansen were able to represent GMI at the 50th anniversary
of the Grace Churches in Bolivia March 12-25. During their visit Frosty preached
eight times and visited a number of our churches. PTL for the various opportunities
that Cathy had to teach and encourage especially the wives of our pastors.
- Flooding in Bolivia - Jerry Olson
writes: “We have had severe flooding this year in many parts of Bolivia. One
of our churches, Jesuscristo Vive, has made a special effort to assist one
village of 70 families that had to evacuate, taking food supplies, clothing,
and blankets. On the last trip out to Okinawa 2, they held an evangelistic
service for the displaced families there and PTL, well over 20 adults and
numerous children believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. Now the congregation
of Jesuscristo Vive is looking to buy land and plant a church in that village.”
Please pray for this new outreach of the Gospel.
- Illness in Our Missionary Family
- Thanks for the many who prayed for Debbe Meier (bitten by a poisonous snake)
and Chad Zuber, Mary Sue Reed, and Mike Stearns who have had very serious
infections. Please continue to pray for their complete healing. Pray also
for Fred Vinton as his rash is making a comeback after some recent HOT weather.
Pray that the rash will remain under control and not worsen.
- Puerto Rico Work Crews - Pray
for Mike and Megin Stearns and Jon and Theresa Marshall as they welcome and
work with almost 20 work crews who will serve this year in Puerto Rico. PTL
for all those who are giving of their time and finances to help in the building
projects at the camp.
- Updates from Congo - Last month
we informed you of two strong earthquakes that hit the city of Bukavu, Congo,
which resulted in damages over $13,000. At least 40 small quakes have been
felt since February 3. PTL that in spite of difficulties getting flights at
this time, Bill Vinton has been able to teach a seminar to our pastors and
visit Fred and Karen at Kipaka for 10 days, as well as make two one-week trips
to Kindu where he has taught two courses at our Bible College. Pastor Nondo
also traveled with Bill and taught a class. Please pray that Bill will be
able to visit Kama in April to teach our pastors, as well as meet with our
church leaders.
- Puerto Rico - John Cox asks that
we pray for the salvation of Homie, Eli, Juan Carlos and Maria. He also asks
for prayer for energy for himself and Kerry as they host work crews and have
a Puerto Rican family living with them while their roof is being replaced.
- Australia Update - Andy Hollier
writes: “It seems the devil is attacking our missionaries and workers on many
fields. I looked at the Grace Bible Church’s prayer list (Ross Graham is pastor)
and was shocked by the number of people who are not well. Please pray for
the health of our Northside Grace Church board chairman, George James, who
is also having health problems.”
- Praise from Tanzania - PTL that
the Guilzon family has arrived in the Rukwa Valley to help in the medical
area. Pray that the Lord would enable them to learn Swahili as they are now
attending language school in Iringa for four months. Ted Rabenold requests
prayer for the salvation of an old man, Mzee Mfuato. The doctor has been working
on an injury on his hand for the past month. This has given them the opportunity
of sharing with him the awesomeness of our God and Savior. He has begun sending
some of his children to church but has yet to come himself.
- News from Costa Rica - PTL for
the many successful activities in the church. Pray for plans for starting
a new church in Alejuela and especially for Miguel and Adrianna who will be
the pillars of this new community. PTL for the 15 people who are signed up
to go on their annual mission trip to Nicaragua in August. Pray God will plant
the seeds of desire for some to become missionaries one day to Nicaragua.
