News You Can Use...for Prayer

September/October 2007

Malindi, Kenya: “I am pleased to write you after one-week ministry in Mombasa and Malindi. In a suburb of Mombasa I met Mr. Peter Tawa and his wife. Upon their invitation I was privileged to share God’s word rightly divided to a small group of 10 people. I had fellowship with the group for two days before leaving for Malindi. I met Pastor Bernard in Malindi. His wife and several church leaders were waiting for me. This was my first time to meet some of these leaders. I was encouraged to find out that this young church is made up of families. In a church like this, where husband and wife plus their children are involved, there is hope, future and positive results. The ministry in this coastal town is growing. They have a temporary church built on a plot while working with the leaders to find a plot where they can build a permanent church.” Peter Kagwi, Kenya TCM Director

Phnom Penh City, Cambodia: The Mahilums have newly settled into a rented house and have already set up their schedule of classes in English, Music, Guitar and Computer. “We are starting these classes to reach new friends. The door of the gospel is still open here in spite of the government’s recent restrictions. We are trying to get the proper visa now. Pray for our outreach.”

Joe and Michelle Campos and Family: Joe’s oath ceremony for US citizenship was August 22. Joe says, “This journey reminds me of James 1:2-4, ‘Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.’” The Camposes leave for Brazil the first week of September to start a new ministry in the city of Natal. Their email address is: jcampos@tcmusa.org.

Pressing on by faith to Thailand: “While we are traveling to different Grace Churches here in the U.S.A., we are telling people that we are preparing to go to Thailand sometime next year. Our goal in Thailand is to share Jesus Christ and plant Grace Churches in that beautiful country. This enormous task can only be done in partnership. We certainly need much prayer support as we start this new ministry.” Genesis & Verna Maraat, Andrea & Josiah

Uganda, Africa: “The landlord of our church, the temporary structure in Kerombi Luzira, has allowed us to renovate, using good material so the church building will be strong and presentable. Praise God the government gave Luz Gaddi a work permit good for three years. “ Carlo & Elma Pana /Charael & Luz Gaddi

Valerie Anderson: Val has spent the last 7 years in Turkey as Principal of an International Christian School that exists to serve families from all over the world who go to Turkey for cross-cultural ministry. The school has doubled in size in the past 3 years, an exciting indicator that the Lord is sending more laborers into that harvest field where 99.9% are Muslim and only 3,000 Christians in a population of 75 million. Val is praying about her next field of service. She can be reached at: valerie@tcmusa.org.

Pastor Nestor Dapat, Philippines: In Manila awaiting his kidney transplant, the donor has passed the matching and now they are waiting for a schedule. Pray for the success of this operation. Nestor is a young pastor, married, two little children.

Gardner & Ledith Improso, Kenya: “Several months ago we transferred to Eldoret to replace the Maraats, who left Kenya. Now we are starting our church building project in Eldoret. After four years of using a school hall, we felt it is time to start our own building. The church plot is situated between a semi-slum and modern residential houses. We need prayer for an extension of our work permit as we are at the point of looking for a full-time leader to pastor Eldoret Church.”
