Today’s Quotation “"Ignorance is not innocence, but sin."—Robert Browning

Our prayers and sympathy are for the families and friends of those people who were killed in the plane crash in Mineral Wells this week. Many people in our church family knew one or both of these men.

Our prayers and sympathy are for Clifton Anastas and his sister, Emma Beyer, in the death of their sister-in-law, Audrey Anastas.

Our church family is sending $100 per month to Meals on Wheels to pay for lunches for people unable to pay. Some members of our church family deliver these meals. If you can help in this, see Ted Griffin.

NEW CHURCH DIRECTORY pictures will be made October 6-9. This time will be here before we realize it. We want every one of our church family in this directory. Those of you who have our older directories know what a treasure they are. The church directory affords an excellent opportunity to pray one for the other in an orderly way.

Congratulations to Natalie Griffin, the new Assistant Principal of Houston Elementary School. We join her family and friends in rejoicing with her in this accomplishment.

Our young people will be going to PUTT PUTT Golf course for a day of play, visit and fellowship on August 28. See Pastor Charles Mays for details.

August 29 is a Fifth Sunday. Announcements will be made from the pulpit as to special activities. Plans are also being made for a “Back to School” Ice Cream Supper in the near future.

PRAYER LIST: Tamara Mays, Anita Nall, James Daniel, Janie Jones’ sister-in-law, Billye Westin-Flores, Bazil Wright, Bob Warren, Marie Tomas, Lavern Horton, Linda Overby’s uncle, Virginia Rodgers’ and Marie Higgins’ nephew, Bobby Harris, Dickie and Carolyn Choate’s son, unspoken requests, military personnel, prisoners and prison ministries, nursing home residents.
