Today's Quotation: “The Christian life is a call to glory through a journey of suffering.”—John MacArthur, Jr.

Sunday August 29, will be a fifth Sunday, which means we will have a covered dish dinner after the morning service. While we are seated around the tables, Pastor Jud Lively will bring an illustrated devotional message. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the services and the fellowship around the tables. There will be no evening service that day.

Ice Cream Supper: Sometime in September (date to be announced soon) we will have an ice cream supper after the evening service. Watch for announcements of this date. We should have plenty of home made ice cream, as well as Blue Bell and Braum’s.

For our young people (and young at heart) there will be a day at Putt Putt Golf Course on August 28. Let Pastor Charles Mays know if you want to go.

Please pray for Sam and Ann Poynor as they are back at M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston for further check-up/treatment.

Pray for their safety and for a good report for Sam. We love these dear couple and miss them when they are away.

Praise the Lord that Brenda Lewin has only one more treatment. Pray for Mrs. Jim Bob (Joan) Roberts as she goes for further tests.

Pray for the young friend of Linda Overby who has a brain tumor. Pray for Jim Baker’s brother, Walter, as he battles a lung tumor.

Coralee Beasley left yesterday to attend a wedding in California and will visit her Uncle Walter while there.

NEW CHURCH DIRECTORY pictures will be made October 5,6,7. We do not want to miss anyone. We have four earlier directories and they grow more valuable to us with the passing of each year.

Pastor/teacher conference: Lake Ray Roberts, November 1 and 2 (tentative dates). We expect John LaVier, Jr. and his wife, True from Indianapolis to be with us.

PRAYER LIST: Jud Bruce Lively, James Daniel, Gerry Bing, Billie Westin-Flores, all of our students, teachers and paraprofessionals as school begins this week, military personnel, prisoners, prison ministries, missionaries, nursing home patients.
